Remote IT Support for Colorado Businesses

Remote support means I can connect to your computer from my office and fix problems without driving to you. It's faster, costs less, and works great for most software issues. Here's how it actually works and when it makes sense.

What I Can Fix Remotely

  • Software troubleshooting and installation
  • Windows updates and configuration
  • Email problems (Outlook, Gmail, etc.)
  • User account and password issues
  • Printer setup and driver problems
  • Cloud service configuration (OneDrive, Dropbox, etc.)
  • Application errors and crashes
  • Performance optimization
  • Security scans and malware removal
  • Network configuration (if the computer can connect)

What Needs an Onsite Visit

  • Hardware failures (dead hard drive, broken screen, etc.)
  • Computer won't boot or connect to Wi-Fi
  • Physical network problems (bad cables, router placement)
  • New equipment installation (computers, printers, servers)
  • Running new ethernet cables
  • Anything that requires touching the hardware

How Remote Support Works

Before the session:

  1. You text or call me with your problem
  2. I send you a secure link to download remote software (usually RustDesk or similar)
  3. You click the link, download the small program, and run it
  4. You give me the connection code it displays

During the session:

  1. I connect to your computer—you'll see your mouse cursor moving
  2. You can watch everything I do on your screen
  3. You can take back control or disconnect anytime
  4. I narrate what I'm doing so you're not wondering

After the session:

  1. I disconnect and the remote software closes
  2. You can uninstall it if you want (though I recommend keeping it for next time)
  3. I send you an invoice with time and what I did

Is Remote Support Secure?

Yes, when done properly. Here's how I keep it secure:

  • You have to initiate the connection. I can't just hop onto your computer whenever I want.
  • Encrypted connection. Everything is scrambled in transit so nobody can intercept it.
  • You can see everything I do. Your screen isn't locked or hidden during remote sessions.
  • You control when it ends. Close the remote software window anytime to disconnect me.
  • No permanent access. Once we're done, I'm disconnected. I don't have a backdoor into your system.
  • Audit trail. Remote software logs what happened during the session.

The remote tools I use (RustDesk, ScreenConnect, or AnyDesk depending on the situation) are professional-grade and used by IT companies worldwide. I don't use sketchy free software or tools that install permanent remote access.

Why Remote Support Saves You Money

  • Faster response. I can hop on immediately instead of waiting for a drive time slot.
  • Lower hourly rate. No drive time = less billable time.
  • Quick fixes are actually quick. A 10-minute fix is 10 minutes, not 10 minutes plus drive time.
  • Better for managed clients. I can handle routine maintenance without interrupting your day.

What to Have Ready for a Remote Session

  • Admin password for your computer (if you're not an admin user)
  • Description of the problem and when it started
  • Screenshots or error messages if you have them
  • 5-10 minutes of uninterrupted time
  • Decent internet connection

Remote Support from Anywhere

One of the benefits of remote support is geography doesn't matter. If you're a Colorado business working with remote employees in other states, I can help them too. If you're traveling and your laptop acts up, I can still fix it. As long as the computer can connect to the internet, I can reach it.

That said, I still prefer meeting local clients in person first. It helps me understand your setup and build trust before we start remote sessions. Plus, some things (like network layout or weird hardware issues) are just easier to see with my own eyes.

Need Remote IT Help?

Text me with your problem and I'll let you know if we can fix it remotely or if I need to come to you. Most of the time, remote works great.
